Van Sias is a features writer, copywriter and editor. His work has been featured in consumer and trade magazines, websites and newspapers on subjects ranging from dissecting American tennis players’ chances at the U.S. Open to the rebuilding of libraries in Haiti to joining a community garden.
Van has held staff positions ranging from copy editor to managing editor with major publishing companies. His interests and areas of expertise include sports, especially tennis; pop culture; home; food; and family—all of which he enjoys writing and editing about. He's written for Rolling Stone, USA Today, The New York Times, Time Out New York and VICE, among others.
As a copywriter, he’s produced digital content and print material for Macy’s, Newell Brands and Carol’s Daughter. He’s also worked as a freelance copywriter for ad agencies SGK, MERGE and The Oliver Agency, and as a full-time performance content editor for media agency EssenceMediacom.
Van lives in the Bed-Stuy neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY, with his wife Nancy, daughter Tillie, a puppy and three chickens.
